For the most part I was pleased with my paper. There were
drastic changes made to my rough draft to get my final draft. I’m pleased I got
an A however the changes I could have made to make it a higher grade were not
drastic. I wish I could have made these small changes to attain a better grade.
There were four areas in which I know I need improve in my writing style.
Blending quotes in to the paper more fluently appeared in my
comments multiple times. This is something that should be an easy fix, however
I always seem to struggle with this. I don’t know how to introduce the quote
and keep it interesting with out being totally random. Next time I may try to
use the context of the quotation to better integrate it in to the writing. I
also need to avoid using passive voice. Sometimes I just switch to it with out
even realizing it. I will unknowingly use it and then not catch it later. This
is something that could be fixed by multiple drafts, and having more people
edit my paper.
I also need to analyze deeper. I struggle with this because
sometimes I feel like I am making a stretch with my analysis. I don’t want to
make have to stretch the material so far but sometimes that is necessary to get
the deepest analysis. Lastly my paper had careless error like spelling mistakes.
There were also grammatical errors that could have been easily prevented. This
is due to the fact that I honestly cannot spell at all and no essentially no
grammar rules. It is not my strong suite. This could be fixed by having someone
who is better at these things than I am edit my paper. Also after I look at
something for a long period of time I tend to not catch small mistakes because
I get so caught up in other parts of the paper,
I think I did well on my paper, but there is always room for
improvement. In order to improve I think I need to take more time and write
more than just a rough and final draft. More than two drafts would help me
catch all of the careless mistakes I over looked and would ultimately bring my
grade up. This is going to be my goal for papers in the future. It takes more
time but will pay off in the end,
